This year's signature event was a great success! The Asia, Middle East and Africa HR Conference, which took place on 14–15 September, secured 120 registrants across 15 different countries — a great representation of our reach as a regional provider of strategic business intelligence.
Our conference themes have always linked HR to the immediate or anticipated economic context to help all of us as HR professionals understand the challenges and opportunities for societies, countries and organizations within our region. "The Changing Role of HR During Uncertain Times" provided revealing insights into how HR professionals can continue to make impactful changes and help drive strategic goals in today's business environment using technology, trends and insights on challenges faced by the HR community — gleaned from Mercer's qualitative and quantitative research reports.
Adel Tan, from LinkedIn, talked passionately about recognizing that innovative benefits must play an important role in attracting, retaining and engaging employees. Dr. Astrid Tuminez, from Microsoft, spoke in detail about diversity and inclusion whilst Aileen Tan, from Singtel, and Natalie Turner from the Entheo Network also shared pertinent practical insights that could help drive strategic growth, as did our various panelists.
The conference included a number of learning formats, including plenary discussions, presentations detailing insightful data and 12 key workshops delivered by professionals who have an international outlook and deal with HR challenges in compensation, metrics and analytics, benefits, talent management, leadership and diversity — globally or within the region.
