For the first time in years, the world economy experiences a synchronized recovery: the US, Europe, and Asia are growing, Brazil and Russia are improving. Even inflation is a mild concern. How solid is growth as we enter the digital era? Is it the top of a "bull cycle" that began on 9 March 2009? Beyond the recovery, fundamental trends define the future of the global economy: international tax reforms, a flurry of regulations, the rise of protectionism, changes in corporate ownership because of M&A, the globalization of companies from emerging markets, and new technologies that will affect productivity and work.

A new economy emerges, increasingly immaterial, driven by intangible assets, new business models based on technologies, data transactions, and possibly cryptocurrencies. In this brave new world, what management competencies and personal skills will ensure competitiveness, make people & digital work, and enable individuals to thrive? Are they compatible with the attitudes and expectations of a multi-generational workforce? The right mindset will be the key to success. How can it be developed and nurtured throughout companies?
