MK Liew
Director HR and General Affairs, Itochu
Liew Meow Koon(M K Liew) is a seasoned HR professional and has worked for a number of both local and multi-national companies based not only in Singapore but throughout the Asia Pacific region for the past thirty years. He has worked outside Singapore, in Hong Kong, Manila and Shanghai.
He is currently the Director – Human Resources for ITOCHU Corporation assisting this Japanese company to transform to be a global company going forward. Based in Singapore, he has regional HR coverage for Asia.
The companies he has worked included Industrial & Commercial Bank(now part of UOB Group), Banque National De Paris, Asian Development Bank, Bank of America, American Express, DHL World Express, Nike International, Lucent Technologies and Eli Lilly and now with ITOCHU, a Japanese conglomerate. During all these assignments, he was actively involved in setting up their HR infrastructure to ensure that appropriate HR policies and programs are in place for their operations in the 13 countries in the Asia Pacific region.
In the recent past five years, he has been involved in reviewing the rewards programs for Asia Pacific countries including in depth strategic review on China and India.
His expertise is in the arrears of recruitment, compensation and benefits design, corporate culture transformation, employee relations and HRIS(Peoplesoft and SAP) implementation.
